Alfred Antonio Mccandies, better known as Tony, was called to his heavenly home on August 1, 2023.
Tony was born August 4, 1972 in Winston-Salem, NC where he excelled in sports at East Forsyth High School. Upon his graduation from East Forsyth High School in 1990, Tony proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Tony was a jack of all trades and lent his abilities to several jobs over the years before ending his career as a lead supervisor at PPG in Thomasville, North Carolina.
Tony was processed in death by his father, Alfred Oates; his grandmother, Sylvia Rogers; and daughter, Chelsey Powers.
Tony leaves to honor his legacy his loving wife, Katrina Mccandies; devoted mother, Mary Kittrell (Jerome Kittrell); Annette "Angel" Lomac; Lennie Junior Moore; Michael Moore; Lennie Moore III; Shawn Moore; sister-in-law, Stephanie Powers; daughter Ciera Powers; beloved great nephew, Jeremiah Powers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tony was the prime definition of a protector and a provider. A public viewing will be held today from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 12pm from Douthit's. The family will receive friends at 11:30am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
