Arnulfo Avellaneda Antunez known as Arnold or Papa went to be with the lord on January 8, 2021. Arnulfo was born on August 15, 1958 to the union of Gabino Avellaneda Gomez and Juana Antunez Rojas. Arnulfo was a member of Gospel Light, Iglesia Bautista Luz Del Evangelo and was a dedicated member. He was a dad, grandfather, an uncle, brother, cousin and a great friend. He was born in Mexico but came to the United States as a teenager with his brother to live the "American Dream". He did exactly that because he was a dedicated worker and put his all into whatever he did. He loved eating at Golden Corral, gardening, and finding and collecting nice items at the Goodwill. Survivors are his ex-wife (great friend)Ada Antunez and daughters Maria and Graciela Antunez and two grandchildren, Marlee Witherspoon and Billy Searcy III. He is survived by his parents Gabino and Juana; six brothers and one deceased: Prisco Avellaneda Antunez (Betty), Jose Isabel Avellaneda Antunez, Emigdio Avellaneda Antunez (Aracely), Cornelio Avellaneda Antunez (Emma), Daniel Avellaneda Antunez (Edith), and Juan de Dios Avellaneda Antunez (Paulina); five sisters: Paty Avellaneda Antunez, Maria Avellaneda (Marco Antonio), Maria de Los Angeles Avellaneda Antunez (David)and Oti Avellaneda Antunez; and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, church family and friends. There will be a public viewing on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's . The family will receive friends at 10:30 am Monday, January 18, 2021 at Iglesia Bautista Luz Del Evangelo and services will be at 11:00am and interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services. The church will have a reception proceeding after the funeral at the fellowship hall for family and close friends.
