Beverly Inez Reese Crim was born to the late William and Elizabeth Reese on June 22, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio. She was baptized at the age of 8 at the former Mount Vernon Avenue Church of Christ (which became Cleveland Avenue Church of Christ and now known as Genessee Avenue Church of Christ) and was a member for 73 years.
She was a graduate of East High School, and immediately after graduation began working at the Defense Construction Supply Center, holding various positions during her 38-1/2 years while employed there. During her work career, she earned her Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Franklin University in 1980. While working fulltime, and even while retired, Beverly felt that entrepreneurial spirit and became a Consultant with Mary Kay as well as with LegalShield.
On August 16, 1960, she wed her high school sweetheart, Joseph Crim. They were married for 62 years. From this union they were blessed with two children, Kimberley McNair and Douglas Crim.
Beverly and her husband matriculated from Mount Vernon Avenue Church of Christ to help with the work of a new congregation on the south side of Columbus known as Watkins Road Church of Christ, where their family attended for 28 years. Following there, they moved their membership to Pataskala Church of Christ in Pataskala, Ohio. During her time in Ohio, she was a Bible Class teacher of youth of all ages, as well as Ladies Bible Class; member of the Sick-and-Shut-In Committee; as well as a speaker at various Ladies Days in Ohio and loved to attend both the National and Ohio State Lectureships. Beverly was also an active member of the United Fund Workers Association of Central Ohio, a group who helped to raise funds for Southwestern Christian College.
In 2010, Beverly and her husband relocated to High Point, NC be closer to their children and grandchildren, and they placed membership with the Carver Road Church of Christ, where she faithfully attended, until her health prevented her from doing so.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Reese; stepfathers, Harvey Thompson and Augustus Cousins, Sr.; sisters, Marie Jarrett, Willene Williams, and Norma Maddox; father and mother-in-law: Alonzo, Sr. and Mildred Crim; brothers-in-law: James Jarrett, Harry Williams, Sr., Sonny Maddox, Dr. Orville Lynch, Sr., James Williams, Marcellus Vinson, and Donald Crim; sisters-in-law, Lillie Williams, Barbara Underwood, and Tabitha Crim; nieces Lorraine Potter, Yvonne Jarrett; nephews James Jarrett, and Ricky Wilson; nephews-in-law: Oscar Potter, Rick Wilson, Sr., and John McFadden.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband and dedicated fulltime caretaker, Joseph Crim, daughter, Kimberley (George) McNair, son, Douglas (Yolonda) Crim, five grandchildren, Kiara McNair, Garrin (Anita) McNair, Douglas Crim, II, Alonzo Crim, Brianna Crim; one great-granddaughter, True Jordyn McNair; sister, Gwendolyn Lynch; sister-in-law, Emma Vinson, brother-in-law, Alonzo (Asta) Crim; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. A public viewing will be held Wednesday January 11, 2023, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 12, 2023, at 11:00am from Carver Road Church of Christ. The family will receive friends at 10:30am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
