Camille Miller Allen passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021. She had just celebrated her 78th birthday on January 12. Camille was one of the world's brightest spirits. She was a kind and big-hearted person who loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Camille attended Kimberly Park Elementary School and Atkins High School, where she was a beautiful majorette and a proud member of the graduating class of 1961. Camille graduated from Winston-Salem Teachers College (now Winston-Salem State University) and was a passionate and dedicated teacher in both Washington, DC and Norfolk, Virginia for over 30 years. Camille excelled in her work with underserved students in Norfolk, and was chosen Teacher of the Year by her colleagues there.

Although Camille grew up in Goler Memorial AME Zion Church, she spent her adult years as an active member of her beloved New Birth Worship Center in East Bend, North Carolina.

Camille is survived by her son, Jon Derrick Miller (Bethany); sister Sandra Miller Jones (Lafayette); nephew William Phillips Jr (Tammy); niece Dr. Bridgette Jones Brooks (Patrick); great niece Tamyka Darden; grandchildren Janna Page, Dijon Miller, Danielle Miller, and Dominique McCullough; great granddaughter, Charlotte Page; and sisters in love, Carolyn Archie, Sandra Tobias, Valencia Chambers and Sterling Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents Luther Mae and Robert A. Miller, sister Bobbiette Miller Phillips and great niece Jasmine Phillips. A private memorial services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021. There will be no public viewing.
