Devon Robert East Grant, affectionately known as "Von" and "Boo Bear", was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on February 23rd, 2004, to Neomie East and Ronald Lee Grant as the one and only child. He entered his eternal home in the evening of July 9th, 2022.

Devon was educated in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County school system where he captured the hearts of his teachers, coaches and friends.

Devon was preceded in death by his mother, Neomie East, Uncles Jeffrey B. Scipio, Samuel Early Scipio, Alton Gamble, Edward Gamble, Aunts Lula Gamble, and Darlene Gamble.

Devon leaves to cherish his memories his grandmother Mrs. Phyllis East, father Ronald Lee Grant, Aunt Weomie East Beale (Clarence Beale) and Lizzette Grant, Uncles Robert East (Ivy East), Alfred Grant and Anthony Gamble, God Father Keshawn Mosley and a host of relatives and friends. Devon was loved by a host of special friends including Torez Dawkins, Kennard Hackett, Michael Robinson, Moe Marley and Felecia Scott, a host of relatives and was often the life and light of any gathering. A public viewing will be held Wednesday July 20, 2022, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday July 21, 2022, at 11:30am from Douthit's.
