Hezekiah Gary Williams, Jr. was born on August 26,1948 to Hezekiah Gary Williams, Sr. and Nettie Andrews Williams in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He transitioned from life to eternity in the early morning on Wednesday May 17, 2023 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center with his devoted son by his side.
Hezekiah, lovingly called June, Kiah ,and Heze, by close family and friends, was raised in the Boston Community. He was lifelong member of St. James AME Church.
Hezekiah loved to cook and watch sports and old cowboy shows. He attended the local public schools and was a 1967 graduate of Paisley High School, afterwards attending Russell Business College. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was assigned to serve on the USS Hoist. Hezekiah worked as a machinist for several companies here in the city, retiring from Microfibers, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his parents. His life will forever be cherished with loving memories by his son, Gary K. (LaTesha) Williams, daughters, Takeena "Nikki" (Chris) Robinson, Trecious Couthen; grandchildren, Malik Williams and Skye Williams, all of Winston-Salem; sisters, Reverend Pamela (George) Mack, Yolanda Williams of the city, Wanda Middleton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; brother, Donald Williams of the city; nieces, Angela Williams of the city; Michelle (Eric) Cates of Panama City, Florida; nephews, Anthony Williams of the city, Corey Walker of Ripon, Wisconsin and Melvin Middleton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; close friends, Ernest and Annette Squire, Vernon Wall and a host of other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held Thursday, May 25th, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26th at 1:00 p.m. at Douthit Funeral Chapel. The family will receive
