Isabella "Belle" Lorraine Luther was born February 25th, 1956 in Winston- Salam, North Carolina to the late Mary Lousia Green Scott and Charlie Leon Scott. She departed her life on July 4th 2024.
Belle was educated in the Forsyth County school System, where she graduated from North Forsyth High School. Belle played Basketball, volleyball, and Softball. After school she married the love of her life the late John I. Luther Jr. She began working at a daycare, Integon, Dillard's, and embroidery company and last occupation was at Sherell Tree.
Isabella Luther was a devoted and passionate member of the AME ZION CHURCH. Her membership began at Center Grove AME Zion Church in Tobaccoville, NC. Where she sang on the young adult choir and served on the Usher board. As her brother came in the Ministry she followed and support Rev. Dairl Scott Sr. in every church he was appointed, starting at Smith Grove AME Zion Church, Stewards Chapel AME Zion Church, Hickory Grove AME Zion Church, Mt Sinai Church AME Zion Church, St. John AME Zion Church, Union Chapel AME Zion Church and last but not least New Hope AME Zion Church. Through this time, she served as the chairperson of the Home Mission, Hospitality, Usher board, and Kitchen Committee at every church. On the Winston Salem District of the AME Zion Church, she served as President of the Jamaica Workers, President of the District Conference worker, and Home Mission worker. While being at Union Chapel she won the Home Mission Award. She was a part of the Christian Education Department and Winston Salem District Choir. Also, throughout her years in Zion her gift in liturgical dance blossomed. She always conducted a dance group at every church she attended. She carried that on through her daughter to creating Silent Voice Mime. She was a seamstress, a cook, a baker (pineapple, German chocolate, chocolate, and coconut cake were her best) a friend, a sister, an auntie, a mother and grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Son, Vincent Scott (Kelly Scott), Atlanta Georgia, and daughters Johnetta Luther, Charlotte NC bounce daughter Angie Doeskin, Wichita Kansas; Grandchildren Jackson Scott, Johnathan (Bam Bam ) Luther, and Carl Luther, and four great-grandchildren. (Isaiah, Ianna, Ivory and Walker). Also leaving her cherished memories to her sisters: Louise Moultry, Alethia Smith (Steve), Mildred Houser (Luther), Rev. Denise Scott. Brother: Donald Scott (Shirley), Robert Scott (Mary), Rev. Dairl L. Scott, Sr. (Shirley), Rev. Johnny Scott (Deb). Devoted Sister-In Laws; Alicia Scott and Sophia Scott. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Great nieces and great nephews. A dear of the family, Marlo Lawary. A public viewing will be held Wednesday July 10, 2024, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 11, 2024, at 3pm from New Birth Worship Center and interment will follow in New Hope AME Zion Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 2pm.
