Jamal Antwain Crawford was born February 2, 1980 to Xavier and Ruby Crawford in Winston-Salem, NC. He transitioned from this life on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in Danville, Va after a brief period of illness. Jamal was preceded in death by his parents, Xavier F. and Ruby G. Crawford and his grandfather James Franklin Hood. Jamal leaves to cherish his memory his three daughters, Jamya Renae Crawford, Jalana Ariel Crawford and Raylyn Rose Crawford. He is also survived by his faithful brother, Travis L. Crawford. In addition, he is survived by his loving grandparents, Jerry and Ruby C. Hinson. He also is survived by his aunts Elder Emma Sims, Doris Crawford, Queen Ester (Hubert) Jeffries, Louise G. (Wesley) Miles, Georgiana G. Lewis and Susan James. He also leaves uncles Deacon William Crawford, Charles Grant, Minister Jerome (Patricia) James and Rev. Kevin C. Hinson. Two devoted friends, Katrena Carter of Danville, Va and Nikki Wooden of Burlington, NC as well as a host of nieces and nephews , other relatives and friends. A public viewing will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. A private services will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
