Janice gained her wings early Monday morning April 11, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Janice Annette Acker was born September 16, 1958, to the late Betty Jean Acker. After the passing of her mother, she was raised by her uncle and aunt the late Rev. O.B. and Elizabeth Pate. She was educated in the Forsyth County School System, graduating from North Forsyth High School in 1978. "Jan" as she was affectionately called was a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop John C Parks. She was a lifetime CNA and Home Care Worker. Her passion was caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her mother Betty Jean Acker, stepfather Sonny Thrash, and Grandmother Carrie Acker.
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted daughter Tunisha Acker of Houston TX, two sons, KenardAcker (Rekila) and Jeremy Acker of Winston-Salem, NC. The loves of her life, grandson Christian Acker, and granddaughter Kenauri Acker. Three Brothers; Reginald Acker, Preston Pate, and Richard Pate, three sisters; Adele Pate, Cordelia Cooper (Fred), and Maeola Leak (Paul) of Winston-Salem, NC. One aunt Verdell Campbell of Winston-Salem NC, one great aunt Hattie Green of Belton SC, a special friend, Paul Turner and her extended family; Elmore and Patricia Douthit, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. A public viewing will be held Monday April 18, 2022, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 19, 2022, at 11:00am from New Hope Baptist Church. family will receive friends at 10:30am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Service.
