Mr. Jayard Khali- Amir Little also known as Pootie was granted his wings on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Jayard was born December 15, 2000, in Winston Salem, North Carolina to amazing parents Kionna Monique Davis and Lorenza Leonard Little both of Winston Salem, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Frank Evans and his grandad Mr. Carl Ross. Jayard (Pootie) graduated from Simon G. Atkins Academic & Technology High School in June 2019. He played football all four years, baseball for two years, and ran track for three years. He volunteered at Lowrance Middle School in high school, working with special needs students, and volunteered at Samaritan Kitchen, and the Bethesda Center. He was a part of the NAACP, Crosby Scholars, Black Achievers, Forsyth County Voters Registration, and Easter Seal. He then graduated from Guilford College, a private school in Greensboro in May 2023. He continued during his college years, Volunteering and being a part of the same organizations as in high school. He played football and ran track in college. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and a minor in Psychology. Jayard (Pootie), was employed at High Point Central High School as a special education teacher assistant and at Target. Left to cherish many incredible and superb memories are his dogs that he loved so much Jasper and Mellow. His grandparents Chiquita Evans, Lorenza (Teresa) Little, and Sterling (Faye) Harris are all from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His siblings Darius Little, Jazzmyn Little, and Faith Little are all from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His best friends, more like brothers and sisters who loved and cherished him, were Aliya Lyerly, Alycia Lyerly, Tyliq Hairston, Jordan Goins, and Dre Leach. Cousins that were more like brothers and sisters, Robert Barr, Kristen Barr, Jayden Evans, and My'Nautia Moore. A niece Alaiya Little which he was very proud to be an uncle. A group of awesome friends from promo team "Tha Untouchables". Many aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jayard (Pootie) lived a life full of adventures, happiness, and love, always striving to grow and embrace every moment with an open heart and mind, cherishing every moment with gratitude and learning from every experience. His caring and nurturing nature touched the lives of many, during his career and personal life. Jayard (Pootie) was known for his BEAUTIFUL smile that could light up any room, infectious laughter, unwavering integrity, boundless generosity, nurturing spirit, and dedication to helping others leaving a profound impact on everyone he met. He was so loved by his family and friends dearly.
A public viewing will be held Friday June 7, 2024, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Saturday June 8, 2024, at 1:30pm from Agape Faith Church and interment will follow in Mount Gur Cemetery in Kernersville, NC. The family will receive friends at 1:00pm at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
