Mr. Jimmy Baxter Caesar, 93, was called unto the promised rest of God on May 11, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Jimmy was born November 28, 1930, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to Quittie Cranford Caesar and Josephine Baxter.
He attended public schools in Winston-Salem and was retired from Sara Lee, Inc. in 1992.
May 16, 1957, Jimmy and Mozelle Hampton entered into Holy matrimony.
As a child, Jimmy grew up in Kimberly Park Holiness Church; as an adult, he was appointed to the board of trustees. He was very instrumental for spearheading multiple church projects to ensure the development, promotion and success of God's Church. He was responsible for aiding various auxiliaries. Jimmy was a master fundraiser and did so with a cheerful and glad heart. He graciously aided in the foundation, support and development of El Bethel Church of God.
Jimmy was a devout family man. He was very industrious and worked hard to ensure the best provisions for his family. He was a powerful influence on his children; imparting knowledge to do all things necessary to provide for their respective families. He lead by example.
Jimmy was preceded in death by children Ronald Stewart Caesar, Linda Ann Caesar, JoAnn Caesar, Steven Douglas Caesar and granddaughter Beta Caesar.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mozelle Hampton Caesar, of the home. He is also survived by children, Jimmy Caesar, Bennettsville, SC, Elder Alan (Deborah) Caesar, High Point, NC, Ann Elizabeth Lyerly, Greensboro, NC, Darren Keith Caesar, of the home and Christopher Owen Caesar, Winston-Salem, NC. Jimmy is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He leaves 2 daughters-in-law, Mrs. Pamela Caesar and Mrs. Valerie Caesar, 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Johnnie Mae (James) Durant and Mrs. Inez (Sammy) Gray, all of Winston-Salem, NC. A public viewing will be held Friday May 17, 2024, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 18, 2024, at 11:30am Kimberly Park Holiness Church and interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 11:00 am at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
