Mr. Jimmy Misenheimer's Obituary

Mr. Jimmy Ray Misenheimer Sr. 79 answered God's call and transitioned to his heavenly home on May 27, 2024. He was born on August 1, 1944, in Cabarrus County to the late Ralph and Ella Mae Misenheimer. Jimmy was educated in the Cabarrus County School System and was employed as a truck driver for over 40 years until his retirement. Jimmy attended Agape Baptist Fellowship Church were enjoyed listening to the praise team sing. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He worked tireless days and nights to ensure his family had everything they needed. Through his diligent work ethic, he taught his children the value of hard work and independence. Jimmy was always more than willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed baking cakes and pies and insisted on feeding everyone that came by the house. Jimmy loved cooking for his wife Ruth on special occasions. His favorite saying was "Say What" followed by his signature laugh "Hehehehe" In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by four brothers: June, Bobby, Hoy Lee and Jerry Misenheimer, a sister Bertha Drye and one daughter Jorinda Butler. Jimmy leaves to cherish his fond memories: His wife of 9 wonderful years Ruth Misenheimer of the home, four daughters: Elizabeth Allison of Concord, NC, Gwen Brown (James) of Claremont, NC, Marquita White (Dwayne) of Winston Salem and Jondolyn Misenheimer of Statesville, NC Three sons: Anthony Walker (Lurlene) of Concord, NC, Jimmy Misenheimer Jr (Doretha) of Charlotte, NC and Terrance Misenheimer of Gastonia, NC. 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Jimmy also leaves to cherish his fond memories: 1 brother- Billy Frank Misenheimer (Mary) of Concord, NC, Three sisters: Mary Welch of Kannapolis NC, Betty Moultry and Diane Brice (Benny) of Concord, NC. followed by a host of extended family, nieces and nephews. Jimmy will be greatly missed by his family but never forgotten. Services have been entrusted to Douthit Funeral Services. The family wishes to thank everyone for your kind words, expression of love and many prayers during this time. Funeral services will be held Monday June 3, 2024, at 11:00 am from New Light Missionary Baptist Church and interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends at 10:30 am at which time public viewing will start at 9:30am at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
