Julius Baker passed away on June 9, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on May 3, 1937 in Lumberton NC to the late Melvin and Annie Baker. He went on to marry late Annie Lee McCormick and is survived by eight children, Terry Baker of Columbus, OH; Timothy Baker (Stephanie) of Columbus, OH; Edwin Baker (Connie)of Atlanta, GA; Melvin Baker (Trixie) of Winston-Salem, NC; Ricky Baker (Shirley) of Winston-Salem, NC; Cathy Coker (Willie) of Winston-Salem NC; Larry Baker of Winston-Salem, NC; Michelle Baker of Winston Salem NC; and one daughter preceded in death Carol Wilson of Winston-Salem. He also was preceded in death by his second wife Louise. Julius siblings are James Henry, Wilson, Rose, Margaret, MollyBell, Minnie Pearl, Eugene, Billy and Jimmy Baker and a proud grandfather to many grandchildren and blessed with several great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A public viewing will be held Monday, June 14, 2021 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 1pm from Douthit's. Family will receive friends at 12:30 pm and interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
