A light from our household is gone, a voice we love is still. A place is vacant in our home, that never can be filled. Mr. Lawrence Edward Brunson was born to the late Mr. Terow and Mrs. Margaret Brunson on March 23, 1942, in Winston-Salem. He attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County public school and was graduate of Atkins High School. Lawrence was employed at Blue Bird Cab for numerous years. He was a member of St. Peters World Outreach Center. Lawrence was preceding in life by his parents. A brother and sister. Lawrence leaves not to mourn: his wife of many years Mrs. Verdell R. Brunson of the home one son Patrick Hopkins of the city, one daughter Ms. Tameka Brunson of the city. A loving blended family, of love Ms. D'Andre Penn of New York, Mr. Donald (Janie) Penn, Mr. Ronald Penn, Mr. Paul N. Penn Jr, Mr. Cedrick (Beverly) Penn and Ms. Velma Penn all of the city. 15 grandchildren a devoted granddaughter Ms. Charity Penn of the city, 15 great grand. Four sisters-in-law Ms. Janie Owens of New York, Ms. Rosa (Robert) McNeil, of Sims NC, Ms. Nancy R. McNeil and Ms. Doretha Ried of the city. One aunt Ms. Betty McLean of the city and a host of other relatives, friends and admirers. A public viewing will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 12pm from Douthit's and interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
