Mr. Merlon David Boone departed this life on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at his home in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He was born March 31, 1964, in Fordham Hospital in the Bronx, New York City to the late Willie D. Boone and Everlene Flythe.

Man, as he was affectionally known, was educated in the public schools in NYC.

For many years while living in NYC, he worked as a Sprinkler Fitter and a Pipe Welder for various companies.

He moved over 15 years ago and made his home in Winston Salem, NC to be near his Sister Deborah Ebrahim and her family.

Man was a quiet and friendly person who loved to cook and eat. He loved his family; he was a loving brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. He will be missed by his loving family; friends and all of the people lives that he touched. We love you, but God loved you best and took you home with him to rest.

While his family is grieving at his passing, they are comforted that he is reunited with his parents in Heaven.

His memory will forever be cherished by his sister Deborah Ebrahim, Winston Salem, NC, one aunt RosaLee Ponton two Uncle Charles Barrett, Curtis Williams two nephews, Uthman(Qasim) and Jibril Ebrahim, one niece Quintasha (Ayesha) Ebrahim, two great nephews, two great nieces and two very close cousins, Cary and Bernard Ponton, a cat name Mook Mook that he loved so much and a host of other family and friends. A public viewing will beheld Thursday May 5, 2022 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral service will be held Friday May 6, 2022 at 11:00am from Douthit's. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
