Obituary

Marva Ann Sewell, affectionately know as 'Butchie". died at home on August 18, 2021. She lived on Southdale Avenue and was a lifelong resident of Winston-Salem. Marva received her childhood education in the public school of Forsyth County. She was a proud 1969 graduate of Atkins High School and at WSSU. Marva retired from R J Reynolds Tobacoo Company with over 35 years of employment. She was preceded in death by her parents Marion Otto Sr, and Flossie Key Sewell. Sister Mary E. Sewell and brother Marion Otto Sewell Jr. (Avis). Marva enjoyed sweepstakes, bowling, fishing, eating out and all things nature. She leaves to cherish her memory, brother Mitchell A. Sewell, sister Marilyn Elmore (Thom). Loving aunt Magnolia T. Key. Beloved cousins James Barber and Anita B. Ingram. Nephews Chris Sewell, Norvell Baker and Andrew Sewell (Jasmine). Nieces Vicky Sewell , Brandi Baker and Alex Sewell. A host of cousins, family, friends and her Atkins Camels classmates. A graveside services will be held Thursday, august 26, 2021 at 11:00am from Piedmont Memorial gardens. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
