Mrs. Millie Jefferson's Obituary

Millie Sims Jefferson was born June 8, 1946, in Winston-Salem, NC. She is the daughter of the late Vernetta and Roosevelt D. Sims. She went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Vernetta and Roosevelt D. Sims, her husband Cecil Rayvon Jefferson, three sisters Allean D. Sims, Teflon Sims Cook, and Patsy B. Sims. Millie graduated from Pasley High School class of 64. She was a retiree of Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company and the City of Winston-Salem Credit Union. Millie owned the Magic Wonders of Music Studio where she taught music for over 20 years to many kids throughout the community. She was a devoted member of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church where she played piano and organ for Sunday School. In addition, Millie played for various churches in the community. She leaves to cherish her memory: five children Roulpherd (Tammy) Goodson, Monroe, NC; DeeWayne Goodson, Dion Fowler, Jerrylyn (John) Bennett, and Jamill Fowler, all of Winston-Salem, NC; a devoted stepdaughter Lisa R. Jefferson; four brothers, two sisters, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends. A public viewing will be held Monday, December 13, 2021, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at 12p.m. from Solid Rock Baptist Church and interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m.at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
