Priscilla Howell Barringer, 72 of 285 Alice Ct. Winston-Salem, NC left this physical world to be with her heavenly father on Wednesday, April 26th,2023. She was a graduate of Winston-Salem State University and Gardner Webb University, where she earned a master's degree in educational leadership. Priscilla was a devoted wife, mother, and "Nana", in which she was affectionately called by her grandchildren. She carried herself as a great sister, aunt, and friend. However, one of her greatest passions was changing lives through teaching. She retired from teaching after giving the education profession 30+ years of service. She was also a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. Priscilla was born November 19th, 1950, to the late Chouncie Lee Howell and Ola Pansy Howell.
In addition to her parents, Priscilla was preceded in death by her brothers: Issac Lee Howell, Rueben Howell, Gerald Howell, and Ray Howell and her sisters: Hazel French, Evelenine Gabby, Cynthia Grant, Esterleane Howell, and Mabel Julien.
Those left to cherish her memory include: her husband of 52 years, William Ravon Barringer, Sr., three sons: William r. Barringer, Jr., Johmar Barringer, and Jermell Barringer, daughters-in-law: Belonda Barringer and Erika Barringer, grandchildren: Natiwya, Korey, William,III, Brandon, Whittney, Madisen, and Graysen; sisters: Willie Jean Bailey and Kathy Riggins (Robert) ; brothers: James C. Howell (Peggy), David Howell, Harold Howell (Judy); mother-in-law, Clara Barringer; in-laws: Linda Studuvent, Raymond and Carol Wilkins, and David and Sharon Barringer; close family friend, Henri` Dixon; and a host on nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends.
Thank you for the words of condolence, text messages, phone calls, cards, and prayers during this time of bereavement. A special thanks to Forsyth Medical Center for their genuine care that was provided before she was called home.
A public viewing will be held Tuesday May2, 2023 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 3, 2023, at 1pm from Union Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 12:30pm. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
