Ricky Aldine Pouncey ,65, a native of Winston Salem, NC, son of Arthur and Inez Jeter, was born May 6, 1959. He was called unexpectedly to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
Ricky was the ideal example of hard work and dedication. He worked at North Carolina Baptist hospital for over 20 years, before leaving to pursue his entrepreneurial calling as a Computer Technician. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ricky Pouncey was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was known for his kindness, big heart, and generous spirit. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends at gatherings filled with laughter and love.
He is survived by his uncle Roscoe Pouncey ,Sr., brothers, Jimmy Jeter and Anthony Jeter; sisters, Carolyn Pouncey, Lavern Tart, Lisa Phipps (Lee), Theresa McKeever, and Carolyn Witcher of Richmond, Virginia. He is also remembered by the daughters he raised: Twanna Stokes (Keon), Vonetta Davis (Juan), and Tara Williams (Eric) all of Houston, Texas, who he loved and cherished; ten grandchildren: LaCoya Robinson, JaQuesha Stokes, Keyonna Stokes, Taurin McClellan, Brittney McClellan, Brenden Stokes, Justin Davis, Chase Davis, Jackson Williams, and Alaya Bownes, who he loved watching grow; special dedicated nephew and great nephew, Brian Pouncey, Sr. and Brian "Baebae" Pouncey, Jr., nieces and nephews who he adored: Meji Pouncey Crawford, Monica Pouncey, April Pouncey, Shanaye Pouncey, Carmeleon Pouncey, Reginald Pouncey, Nehemiah Pouncey, Natalie Sheppard, Asia Pepper, Jasmine Jeter, Jimmy Jeter, Jr., Joi Jeter, Jawan Hayes, Willie Pouncey, Jr., and Marie Pouncey; one god daughter, Ca'Niyah Pouncey; and a host of great nephews, great nieces, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Arthur Jeter, mother, Inez Jeter, brother, Willie Pouncey, sister, Cynthia "Paddy" Pouncey Wideman, nephews Ronnie Pouncey and Sinica "Snoop" Pouncey. A public viewing will be held Thursday October 31, 2024 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Friday November 1, 2024 at 12:30pm from Emmanuel Baptist Church family will receive freinds at 12pm. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
