Roderica "Nicole" McLaurin was born in Winston-Salem, NC on April 29, 1982 to Stephina McLaurin and Roderic Young. Early in the morning of Saturday, October 17, 2020 without any good-byes, she peacefully went home to her Lord and Savior.
Nicole attended Glenn High School – Class of 2000. She furthered her education and was a 2004 graduate of Fayetteville State University. She was employed many years as a Supervisor for Volunteer Services at Novant Health. In her current employment, Nicole was a North West Area Program Assistant - Health Education Center of Wake Forest School of Medicine. Nicole was a member First Waughtown Baptist Church.
Nicole was kind-hearted and had a gentle spirit. She had a big heart and was a good friend - always there when needed. Nicole was also about business. If you needed to hear the truth – you could count on Nicole. She enjoyed spending time with her family and being a mother to Kameron and little Dylan. She also loved her mother especially bossing her around as if she was the mom.
Nicole leaves to cherish her memory, her sons - Kameron McLaurin and Dylan Payne; her parents, Stephina McLaurin (Alvis) Walker and Roderic (Sandra) Young; Step-brothers, Jamel Young and Bernard (Liz) Flynt; one Step-sister, RaShawndria (Marquis) Scales; her Grandmother, Ruby Ogburn and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, other Relatives and Friends.
A public viewing will be held Friday, October 23, 2020 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. A private funeral will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020 Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
