Our beloved father, Roger Lee Banner entered into eternal rest on July 31, 2023 at the Winston Salem Novant Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Roger was born to Otis and Mary Lee Banner in Winston Salem, North Carolina on September 17, 1953. He was educated in the Winston Salem Forsyth County School System and later attended Johnson C. Smith University. Roger was self-employed as the owner of Dr. Detail Auto Detailing.

In 1976, Roger married Barbara Ogelsby and to that union two beautiful daughters were born, Diesha and Latrice. As a loyal servant to God, first and foremost, Roger served as an Usher with Ambassador Cathedral and Elder with [church]. He loved the people in his community and church and enjoyed sharing the love and warmth of Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Otis Banner, Mary Lee Banner; his brother Bartholomew Banner; wife Barbara Banner; He is survived by many loving friends and family members, including his daughters Diesha & Latrice Banner; grandson Khilen Holliman; and nephew Justin Ennis.

A special thank you to Mrs. Etta Branson who was his beloved caretaker. A memorial services will be held Saturday August 5, 2023 at 11:00am at Douthit's. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Fuenal Services.
