On Sunday December 31st 2017, Roland Lorenzo Eaton was quietly and peacefully called home to eternal rest. He has fought a good fight, the battle is over and his life on earth is done.
Roland 58, affectionately known as "Sugar Daddy" and "Sugar Bear" was born April 24th 1959 to Jesse and Shirley Eaton. Roland was a graduate of Central High School class of 1978.
Roland enjoyed washing cars, listening to old school music, and was one of the best shoe shining entrepreneurs at the Brian Center. Roland was kind heart, cheerful and will always be remembered by his smile.
Roland was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and a Sister Debra Clark.
He leaves to cherish his love and memory to his parents Jesse and Shirley Eaton, four brothers Michael Eaton, Kenneth (Sherry) Eaton, Larry (Patricia) Smith of the city. Jesse Smith of Far Rockaway, New York: six sisters Sharon (Timothy) Jones, Trena Eaton, Beverly Eaton of the city. Brenda Ellis, Tracey Ellis, Velvet Ellis of Long Beach, California. A Homegoing service will be held at 1pm on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Ministry for Christ, 2341 Patterson Ave. Winston-Salem, NC 27105 with Bishop Andrea Marsh officiating. Family visitation will begin at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Mr. Eaton may be viewed on Thursday, January 4th from 2pm-6pm at Douthit Funeral Services.
