Obituary

Shana Benton was born to Ray Moore and Ann Benton, June 19, 1970. She was raised in Philadelphia, Pa. Shana attended the Philadelphia school district and graduated from Thomas Edison High School. As a teen Shana was very popular in the neighborhood. She had many friends and was cool as ever. Sister as we affectionately called her was tough and sweet; she took no nonsense from anyone. She was what you could call a sour patch kid (lol). Sister always protected the ones she loved, if she loved you she loved you hard! Sister birthed two beautiful children Quinshetta and Quintion while visiting back and forth from Winston to Philly. Sister moved to Winston when she became a young adult. She chose to stay in Winston with her children to provide a better life for her family in a slower paced environment. While living in Winston she attended Forsyth Tech for nursing. Sister also worked for Aramark for about 25 years as a shift lead and a supervisor. Sister was stricken with Diabetes in the mid 2000's Through it all she tried her best to fight the battle without giving up. Sister endured many ups and downs, and never gave up. Sis was a tough cookie! She gave herself to all who needed her and expected nothing in return. To meet a caring person such as Sister is rare these days. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Shana Benton is survived by her significant other Micah Moore, two children Quinshetta Jackson, Quinton Jackson and her stepson Micah Moore Jr. ;Three grandchildren Armahney Jackson, Zar'ion Boatwright, and Amiyiah Moore. Six siblings she also leaves behind Tyrone Benton, Robyn Moore (Richard), Pamela Moore-Powell, Keith Benton, Mathew Banks, Sojourner Moore-Parks and Sherandie Jennings, and a host of nephews and nieces. Shana was preceded in death by her parents Ray Newton Moore and Ann Benton. Two siblings Baby Ray (Ray Moore Jr.) and Javon Connor.
We would like to thank two people that were special to her, Julia Bryd and Michelle Newsuan-Richardson.
