Ms. Tanya Renee Hairston was born to Leon Johnson and Debra L Hairston on January 24, 1970, in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Tanya departed this earthly life on April 28, 2023, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Sinai Deliverance Temple where she served on the praise team. Tanya enjoyed singing and going to church, had her kids there every Sunday. Tanya loved spending time with Cydnei and Amayah. She loved to sing, dance and laugh. She had a gift of singing. She was a graduate of Reynolds High School. Tanya was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Johnson and Debra L Hairston. She leaves to cherish her memory her four loving children: Antonio Hairston, Tarence (Lisa) Hairston, Danielle Hairston and Darnelle (Courtney) Hairston. Two grandchildren Cydnei Hairston and Amayah Hairston. Four brothers, four sisters, a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A public viewing will be held Friday May 5, 2023, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 6, 2022 at 1pm from Global Restoration Church, 3501 Thomasville Road. The family will receive friends at 12:00pm. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
