Teresa Maria Janet Becoat, born February 9, 1960, in Brooklyn, NY ended her earthly life on May 4, 2021. Waiting to receive her with open arms are her mother Bertie M. Becoat, Her brother Douglas Becoat, and her cousin Bernard Cole. She moved to Winston -Salem with her family. Teresa attended WSFC schools. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Galilee Baptist Church. Teresa loved to be around people. She often held functions at her home just to be around those she loved. She was a dedicated mother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as "NaNa". She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughters, Sherica Becoat(Fred), Nakesha Becoat, and LaShaunda Becoat(Javon) all of Winston-Salem. Her beloved grandchildren Chance Eldridge, Chazney Eldridge, her faithful sidekick, Shanara Becoat, Imani Becoat, Johnny Ford, Journee Huffin, and Anaria Becoat, two sisters Sabrina Barfield(James), Evelyn Becoat(Monte), and a brother Donald Becoat. "NaNa" as she was affectionately called will truly be missed by her great grands Arionna Harrison, Chloe Brim, special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, and a host of cousins and relatives.A public viewing will be held Monday, May 10, 2021 from 1pm util 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 12pm from Galilee Baptist Church and interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
