Wilford Lee Rhodes was born June 30th, 1944, in Comfort North-Carolina to the late Herman Lee Rhodes and Pauline Rhodes. He departed this earthly life on June 2nd, 2022, after a brief illness.

Wilford graduated from Jones High School in Trenton NC, and after HS spent 10 years in the US Army. Wilford worked for Lowder Construction in Winston Salem for several years and retired from Securitas Security Services USA in Concord NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of more than 15 years Bertie Mae Rhodes and his brother Pastor Donnie Rhodes.

He leaves to cherish his memories three children Wilford Rhodes Jr. (Debra) Rashaun Rhodes (Caressa deceased), Shirlina Garrett (Freddy), five stepchildren Roy Nanette Penn (Calvin), Clarence Cowan (Lois), Allen Cowan (Denise), Christopher Cowan (Alecia) and Sheun Cowan (Tina). Four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Wilford has two siblings Dorothy Carter (Henry) Roy Rhodes (Marsha) and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A public viewing will be held Thursday June 9, 2022 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Friday June 10, 2022 at 12:30pm from Douthit's family will receive freinds at 12:00pm. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
