An angel has been called home. Alecia was born on May, 25, 1970 and passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017. She is survived by her parents, Debra D. and Jesse G. Petree; two sisters, Tomeka Lynch Purcell (Herbert) and Anthanette M. Petree; two nephews, Marc L. Sloan Jr. and Isaiah A. Raiford; two nieces, Angel D. Moser and Mykayla M. Petree; best friends, Stacy Fifie and Cheryl Klass. Alecia graduated from Carver High School in 1988. Alecia's SAT scores qualified her to be inducted in the book of "Who's Who of the world." She attended ASU as well as BYU, after moving to Utah, then graduating from UVU with a Culinary Arts degree. Alecia was one of two students invited to work as a chef, traveling to Alaska for months at a time for a cruise line. After she completed the program with the cruise line, she began managing restaurants. Prior to Alecia's death, she was working for JetBlue as a Reservationist as well as managing a Le Creuset store. Alecia will not only be missed by her family and friends here in Winston-Salem but her church family and a host of friends and coworkers in Utah as well. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00am from the chapel of Douthit Funeral Services. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until the time of service.
