Mrs. Carolyn Avant Morton was born in Timmonsville, SC to John Brickman Avant and Mary Aline Avant. She worked at the Morning Newspaper of Florence, SC. She moved to Winston-Salem, NC in 1966 when she married Julian Carr Morton, who preceeded her in death on January 16, 2000. She retired from Integon and was a member of Hopewell Moravian Church. Survivors include her step children, Butch and Julie Morton;
step granddaughter, Lyndsay Vaughn Zotian; nieces, Lynn Avant and Lisa Kaufman; nephew, John Avant. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Hopewell Moravian Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
