The world became a better place on March 3, 1999 when Dymar Tavion Singletary was born. A native of Winston-Salem, NC he was a shining light to all those whose paths he crossed. On September 8, 2023 the world became less bright when this wonderful soul was taken away.
During his 24 years, he enjoyed dancing, playing the drums and learning new ways to become a better man. Dymar's big heart was filled with love for all his family and friends. He was an amazing big brother to his siblings. He had an infectious smile and joyful laugh. Dymar was driven, goal oriented, and had a zest for life.
He excelled in every aspect of life graduating from Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy and receiving a certificate of acknowledgment from the Crosby Scholars Community Partnership. He was also on the leadership board with Carolina Federation as an advocate against violence and fought to strengthen communities.
Dymar leaves to honor his legacy to his parents; Antawannette M. Singletary, Darrell N. and Ashley Foy, sisters; Aryanah Scales, Dreah Foy and Samareah Davis, brothers; Nehemiah Singletary and Ashaun McFadden, Grandparents; Darrell and Patricia Foy, Wilbert Covington and Rachel Singletary; Uncles Rhashad(Cyntrina) Foy, Robert Austin, Larry (Renee) Austin, Antawan(Demetria) Singletary, Deqawn Singletary, Aunts; Monique (Reginald) Underwood, Schmora(Robert) Brewer, Katina Bethea, Lakisha Shaw, Janine Torres, JoAnn Singletary, Kim Austin, Paulette Cleckly, Juanita Cotton, Michelle Covington; Godmothers; Tavonya Frazier, Renee Marsh, Godfathers; Will Damon and Jevon Glymph, his beloved dog Diamond, and a host of special cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. A public viewing will be held Sunday September 17, 2023 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Monday , September 18, 2023 at 1pm at Douthit's. The family will receive friends at 12:30pm. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
