Mr. Fredrick "TRE'" Lee Caldwell III

Fredrick Lee Caldwell, III was born on June 28,1990 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Joyce Reneé Courts-Massey and the late Fredrick Lee Caldwell, Jr. (Tommy). He made his transition into eternal life, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at home. May God grant us grace and comfort during this time of sorrow. He received his high school diploma from Hopewell High School, class of 2008, located in Huntersville, NC. He also attended West Mecklenburg High School, Charlotte, NC and North Forsyth High School, Winston-Salem, NC. Early in his younger days he played T-Ball, Little League Football, Baseball, and High School Football. He was the best “Big” kid and children adored interacting with him. As a teen he joined, Christ Kingdom Building Worship Center where he was a junior Deacon. He served the congregation as a communion leader. Fredrick was a Devout Carolina Tarheels Fan. One of his favorite things to do was watching the Carolina Tarheels basketball team play. He enjoyed being behind the wheel and always dreamed of owning Track Hawk which he called the Tré Hawk. When he set his mind on something, nothing could stop him from completing that task. Refused to settle for less, he always wanted the best for himself and the best for all those he loved. There was not a pair of Jordan’s that he didn’t have or did not try to obtain. A sharp dresser, his wardrobe consisted of outfits that had to match from head to toe. Everything had to match and you never mixed-up designers, you must stay focused on one style and or one designer. The influence he had on others was uncanny. He was a true born leader and many wanted to follow. He was very instrumental in helping create the vision for Making A Difference Monday; a teen outreach ministry for youth. Cherished being around his many friends. He loved the city of Winston-Salem and his dog Sapphire. Tré loved experiencing different cultures and accomplished this by going to various restaurants to try different types of cuisines. Know that he was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick Lee Caldwell, Jr.; great grandfather, Robert P. Hawkins; great grandmother, Mattie P. Hawkins, grandmother, Mary Regina Courts and his godfather, Percy H. Finch. He leaves to cherish his memory mother, Joyce R. Courts-Massey (Mark); his grandparents, Joe W. Courts, Fredrick L. Caldwell, Sr., and Brenda Caldwell; aunts, Tamie Caldwell, Joanne Courts-Settle, and Regina Gorrell; uncle, Kenneth Caldwell (Charlotte); cousins Dezmon Settle (Janay), Baneé Caldwell, Monica Caldwell, and Reginald Gorrell; Godparents, Elmer Ray Hawkins, Peachie Cheeks, and Regina Gannaway Mullen; special friend, Tyeisha Johnson, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Jerusalem United Holy Church, 633 Prince-Williams Street, Reidsville, NC beginning at 3:00 pm. The family visitation will be from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm. A public viewing will be held Saturday February 24, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 1pm at Douthit's. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
