On Saturday May 9, 2020 Malika "The Queen" Davis entered into the Master's joy. Malika Charmane Davis, born September 4th, 1987 in Bluefield, West Virginia and later moved to Winston-Salem, NC at an early age. She attended Forsyth county schools and was employed at Bermuda Village Retirement Community where she was a valued and cherished team member. She was a hard worker and committed employee. Malika planned to further her education and become a nurse. She also had aspirations to travel and see the world this year. Her gift of creativity allowed us to be blessed with her love for dancing, singing and writing. Her wittiness filled everyone around her with joy. Ms. Davis was Known to many as "Malika The Queen," "Big Likk," "Big Body" and "Fat Snack." God blessed us with a free spirited, loving soul who was well loved by everyone she encountered. Malika was a devoted Daughter, Sister, Auntie, Niece, Cousin and Best friend. Her mother stated she should have named her Hugs Davis because she always greeted you with a hug. Greeting her at Heavens gates are her paternal grandparents George and Frances Davis, Maternal grandfather Donald Hayford and Paul Craig Sr., two Nieces Mahogany Davis and Talia Oakes and Nephew Malcolm Davis Jr., Aunt Judy Davis and Angie Bane. Malika leaves to continue her legacy Terry A. Young Jr. and K'li J. Alford, Companion Kayshawn T. Alford, Maternal grandmother Dorothy Craig, Parents George and Selma Davis. Three brothers Talut (Heaven) Oakes, Malcolm (Kameelah Clark) and (Josheia ) Davis, Tyrone Davis. Two aunts Cassandra Craig and Jewell Hawkins. Three uncles Ricky Bane, Paul Craig Jr., Duvon(Sabrina) Davis. Her lifelong friend Elizabeth Renee Hairston and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who she adored. A public viewing will be held Thursday, May 14,2020 from 2pm until 5pm at Douthit's. A private funeral service will take place on Friday, May 15, 2020.
