    Ms. Betty Taylor

    October 7, 1941 - January 4, 2022

Ms. Betty Love Taylor was born on October 7, 1941, to Archie W. Love and Betty Dawson Love in Winston-Salem, NC. Betty graduated Salutatorian from Atkins High School class of 1960. Upon graduation she began her career with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco company where she labored for 34 years before retiring at 55 years old. Betty was baptized at an early age at Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church and later attended Shouse Temple CME church. Betty enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her pride and joy were to cook for family reunions, cookouts and especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. She was so captured by the family meal she often celebrated the cooking skills of others by sponsoring the “gathering.” On January 4th, God called her home. She was preceeded in death by her parents, daughter Pamela Taylor Moses and brothers Archie Love, Jr. and William Love. Betty leaves to cherish her most precious memories her sons Billy (Lorraine) Miller and Jermaine Taylor, Corena Thomas, Son-in-Law Chuck Moses; her grandchildren Tarreyca Taylor Mulinda, Elizabeth Miller, Catherine Miller and Jamese Moses; cousins Barry Love and Joanie Hairston. Betty received loving care from her caregiver Rebeca (Dee Dee) Simon for several years. The family would like to recognize Dee Dee’s care, and the support Betty also received from Lilly Love and Gloria Benbow.
