Mrs. Carrie Hanna

Mrs. Carrie Bell Hanna, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 7, 2020, leaving this world to enter her heavenly home. Mrs. Hanna was born to the late Hayward and Louise Singletary on December 17, 1937, in Lake City, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Ruth Singletary, Etta Singletary, Annie “Penny” Lancaster and Catherine Kale; brothers: Hayward “Bubba” Singletary, Roosevelt Bryant, L.C. Eaddy and Leroy Julious. Mrs. Hanna was married to the love of her life, Mr. John S. Hanna, Sr. A devoted homemaker, she enjoyed being a wife and was known for her delicious home cooked meals, always seasoned with love. Mrs. Hanna was a faithful member of First Waughtown Baptist Church who heartedly embraced the 2016 message of her beloved Pastor Bishop, “No Sweat” taken from Ezekiel 44:18, always reminding her family that God was in control and there was no need to stress about anything. “It’s in God’s hands,” she would say. Now, she is, too. Left to cherish memories of her beautiful life are her husband and five devoted sons: James Wallace, of the city; John (Deborah) Hanna, Jr. of Lake City, SC; and Ronnie (Tammy) Hanna, Leon (Stephanie) Hanna, and Haywood (Angel) Hanna, all of Winston-Salem. Loving survivors also include a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also will be lovingly remembered by her sisters: Dorthy Lee Brown and Rose Lee Fulmore both of Lake City, SC and Mable(Larry) Fulmore of Miami Gardens, FL; brothers: Randolph Bryant and Jimmy Singletary both of Lake City, SC, John Wesley Singletary of Miami Gardens, FL; sister-in-laws: Rosa and Betty; brother-in-laws: Tim, Larry and Frank. and a host of family members, including nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A public viewing will be held Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. A private funeral services will be held Friday, November 13, 2020. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
