    Mr. George Cowan

    October 2, 1948 - May 4, 2022

    Mr. George William Cowan, 73. transitioned from this Earthly Life on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on October 2, 1948 in Rowan County to the late Will Cowan and Irene Elizabeth Chambers Cowan Moore. George was well - known in the Holland Homes community and was loved by everyone where he once resided. George attended R.A.Clement School. He worked at Statesville Brick Yard and Myers Lumber Company. George relocated in Winston Salem, NC over 65 yrs. ago. George, loved his family and he always love to met new friends and he wasn't a stranger to anyone he meets and he was just all -around loving person. he loved to watch those Western Movies and love to listen to 1340an gospel radio station. Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Sloan, Mary Ann Thompson, and Brenda Baker and one brother Ricky Cowan. He leaves to cherish his memory with: four sisters, Patricia Jackson of Statesville, NC; Dianna Cauthen of Troutman, NC; Linda Rutledge of Winston Salem, NC; Carolyn (JIM) Baker of California; four brothers Walter Cowan, Jerry Cowan, and Ronnie Cowan all of Winston Salem, NC; and Paul Cowan of California. and a host of nieces, nephew; cousins other relatives, church family and friends; loving care givers Mary Mckinney Watson, Tasha and Evangelist Vanessa Little; Special Thanks to the Citadel of Winston Salem, NC; Shore Home Care Agency; Traci Knight; Forsyth Medical Center Pallative Care. A memorial services will held Friday May 20, 2022 at 12pm from Destiny Temple Apostolic Church. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
