    Ms. Tambra Grant Cunningham

    May 8, 1966 - January 18, 2022

    Tambra, also known as “Tammy Girl,” was born and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Valjean Grant and John Moncrief on May 8th, 1966. She transitioned into Heaven on January 18th, 2022; in the arms of her mother same way, she entered this world. Tambra was loved, admired and respected by everyone she encountered. After receiving her Diploma from North Forsyth High School, she then went to embrace her dreams where she found herself entering the United States Navy (Yeoman). She came out of the Navy to become a home maker to raise her children and take care of the home. Tambra is preceded in death by her father John C. Moncrief Jr; stepfather Joseph Grant Jr.; grandparents John and Christine Moncrief, her godfather Marion Kit Canty. She is survived by two daughters; Jasmine (Crystal) Randolph and Tyesha Watts; and one son Darrick Cunningham Jr. Two Stepdaughters; Takeisha Lineberger and Courtney Watts.Seven grandchildren; Ty’Siyah, Domini, Tre, Geremiah, Travis, Adonis, Trinity. Tambra is also survived by her long-term life partner of 28 years Darryl Watts. He has lived his life devoted to her happiness, her well-being and making sure she lived life to the fullest. Her grandparents Mrs. Mary and Mr. Theodore Shields; Her sister Lasonya (Fred) Allen Geter (brothers); devoted Aunt Brenda Cain Lyons; Aunt Elder Cynthia Hill; devoted cousin Marlon Cain. A host of uncles, nieces, cousins, and nephews A public viewing will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 3:00pm from Douthit. Family will receive friends at 2:30pm. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
