Mr. Anthony Jerome Cain, 64, transitioned to eternal rest on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to his beloved parents Barbara Jean Cain and Tellemanicous Cain. He was welcomed into a life of love and warmth. Having been preceded in death by both of his parents, he now joins them in eternal peace.
Anthony attended Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and developed a deep affection for martial arts, spending countless hours enjoying shows and films that celebrate the art form, along with his other favorite pastime, watching old westerns. He was an avid walker, often seen exploring the neighborhood or simply enjoying the fresh air. To those who knew and loved him, he was a gentle and occasionally spoiled soul, always giving back warmth and affection in return.
Though Anthony faced certain challenges in life, he lived with a heart full of love and a spirit that embraced simple joys. He was also a man of quiet passions that loved his family and friends dearly. He will always be remembered by his easygoing nature and the way he could light up a room just by being himself.
Anthony leaves to cherish the memories of his life, his loving Aunt Angela Smith and Uncle Harold Smith (Diane Smith), his devoted sisters Cheri Cain McMullen (Stanley McMullen), and Starlyn Cain (Wilburt Johnson) and a village of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
A public viewing will be held Wednesday September 10, 2025, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Thursday September 11, 2025, at 11:30am from Douthit's. The family will receive friends at 11:00 am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Service
