Mr. Anthony D. James, aka "Buck" passed away on March 3,2025 at Novant Health. Anthony was born on September 28, 1973 to Patricia Goldsmith James and Andrew James. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother Eloise. K. Goldsmith.

Anthony is survived by his daughter and the love of his life, Armani C. James. Wife, Christina R. James, brother Aaron D. James (Chanel). Nephews, Dylan Wright James and Bryce Wright James. Aunts, Sara G. Crumpton of CA, Alice Mayes of NJ, and Pam Horton of WS. Father and mother-in-law, Michael and Mary Rucker and sister-in-law, Quintoria Rucker and brother-in-laws, Michael Rucker and John Martin.

Anthony was larger than life and loved his family hard. He will be missed by his special cousins, Lana K. Taylor, Krista W. Powell (Roger), and Jana Goldsmith Powell (Quazhar) and Stephen Goldsmith Jr. Special nephews and nieces ..Roger Powell Jr.,Quazhar Goldsmith, Jessica Powell, Jaques Goldsmith, Ja'Niya Rucker Haney and a host of other relatives and friends.

Forever love to his Creek way family and extended little brothers Jimmy and Reggie Hunt, Linwood Skinner, Beanie Montgomery Tony Wright, Jerry Hanes and Chris Petree.

Anthony graduated from RJ Reynolds HS and was later employed by RJ Reynolds High School until his health began to fail.

Our hearts are broken by this loss but our love and your prayers will help us heal.

A memorial service will be held Saturday March 8, 2025, at 11:00am from Union Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 10:30. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Service.
