With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Beverly Lavern Thompson, who left us peacefully on September 3, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Beverly Thompson was born on November 11, 1957, to Delores Fraley & John Sturghill in Statesville, NC. Beverly Thompson's life was a testament to love, confidence, laughter, and the enduring spirit of a nurturer.
Beverly Thompson was the glue in the lives of her family and friends. Her one-of-a-kind personality never failed to bring laughter, warmth and joy to those around her. Beverly Thompson was the second oldest child, and often seen as a mother figure to her younger siblings.
Beverly Thompson's passions were many, but above all, she cherished the time she spent with loved ones, engaging in her favorite hobbies, and spreading the word of God throughout her community in meaningful ways.
As we celebrate the life of Beverly Thompson, we honor her remarkable resilience in her life's journey and the everlasting mark that she left on our hearts. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in remembering a life so beautifully lived.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: Mother Delores Glover; Children Rodney Fraley, Tanisha "Nookie" Fraley, Dexter Fraley, Shawn Fraley, Tiffany Thompson, Hope Barber, Joshua Barber, Faith Barber and Charity Barber; Grandchildren Rodney Jr,. "Bookie", Brayden, Zion, Monte, Ariyanna, Veronica "vel", Anadge, Genesis, Pure, Bobby, Mary, Shawn jr, Robert, Journey, Joshua jr, Jauhri, Jha'sye, Jior; along with 5 great grandchildren, a host of siblings, nieces/nephews, aunts/uncles, cousins, partner Andra Shepard devoted friend Grady Barber and other friends she dearly loved. She joins her father, brother and nephew in Heaven.
As we say goodbye to Beverly Thompson, let us hold dear to the memories, the joy, and the love that she shared with so many. Her legacy will never be forgotten and will continue to inspire and guide us. To be absent from the body and present with the Lord. Beverly Thompson, you are loved and will forever be in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 10, 2024, at 12pm from Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 11:30 am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
