Bishop Emeritus Alexander E. Boseman Jr., 82, of Winston-Salem NC passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston -Salem NC.
He was born on May 10, 1943 in York County, South Carolina to the late Alexander Boseman Sr. and Sophia Burris Boseman. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he is preceded in death by his only sister, Jerry McDaniel in June 2025. He is survived by his children; Anita Miller of the home; Ernest Simmons, Aurelia Boseman and Kesha Felder of the city; Veronica Boseman of Georgia and Tiffany Boseman of Concord NC; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; lifelong devoted friend, Ms. June Garner and a host of friends and extended family. He graduated from Paisley High School in 1960 and from NC A&T University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1966.
He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army and a Vietnam War Veteran; formerly employed at Reynolds American, City of Winston-Salem, Securities Services and self-employed tax preparer. He was an avid participant at the Williams Adult Day Center where his creativity produced the picture he named 'Six" and watercolor portrait he named "Pink and Blue". In May 2022, he was ordained Bishop Emeritus in the Church of God in Jesus Christ Apostolic Inc. (C.O.G.I.J.C.A.) where he remained until death.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 15, 2025 at 12:30pm at Temple Holiness Apostolic Church. The family will receive friends at 12:00pm from the church. There will be a public viewing on Friday November 13, 2025 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit Funeral Services. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
