Bishop Jack E. Nelson, age 77 , of Kernersville, NC departed this life on October 14, 2021. Jack was born on June 23, 1944 to the late James Nelson Sr. and Edith Wilder Nelson . He was the fifth child out of seven children. He attended the WSFC schools where he graduated from Carver High School in 1958. He was drafted into the US Army and served 2yrs in Vietnam. He attended Winslan College where he obtained his Business Degree, and he later went on and obtained many more degrees. He was preceded in death by both parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister, a grandson, and his beloved wife of 40yrs Deloise Nelson. Surviving him are his 7 sons, 1, daughter, 5 daughter –in-laws, 23 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren , 1 brother, and 2 sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and friends. A public viewing will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 2pm from Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 1:30pm. Interment will take place Monday, October 25, 2021 at 10:00am in Salisbury National Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
