Obituary

Bishop E.R. Scott, Jr., 66 was born December 20, 1955, in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Deacon Ernest R. and Deaconess Alice M. Scott, Sr. He was a 1974 Graduate of Parkland High School. He held the title for most Homeruns while attending Parkland. He played Lil League Baseball where he was First Baseman. Bishop Scott also on the church softball team. He was a former employee of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center as a transporter.

Bishop Scott was a member of the Willing Workers Boys Club under tutelage of Elder Leslie James. He was a member of Senior Choir, the Usher Board and Church of God In Jesus Christ Apostolic Bible School. He served as assistant secretary of the General Assembly. He was Vice President to the Ministerial Leadership Conference and served on the Bishop Board of COGIJCA.

Bishop Scott was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years Minister Ethel Lunn Scott, his parents, his father in law Bishop Early Lunn and mother in law Deaconess Earlene Lunn, 3 sisters-in-law Avalene, Patricia and Denise.

He leaves to cherish fond memories his sister, Lisa Scott Lozono, 3 brothers Michael (Saundra) Scott, Sr., Jerry (Brenda) Scott Sr., all of the city and Kevin (Vivian) Scott Sr., of High Point, NC. A very devoted friend Vanessa Carpenter of Troy, NC. Very devoted cousin and caretaker Carolyn Brown and Rodeny Kyle of the home. A nephew and niece whom he helped raise John and Jazmine Moor both of the city. His godchildren Jessica (Monte) Mitchell of Winston-Salem, Jameika Pegues of Connecticut., a sister in law Cassandra (Ricky) Shine of the city, one aunt D. Irene Wofford of Maryland. A host of other relatives and friends., his church family Temple Holiness. A public viewing will be held Friday, May 27, 2022 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 28, 2022 at 11:00am from Temple Holiness Church and interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 10:00am at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
