On the morning of Friday, June 25, 2021, Calvin Fluitt was called to his heavenly home. A native of Salters, South Carolina, he was born to Lucille and Lawerence Fluitt. Calvin was preceded in death by his wife Gertis Fluitt and eldest son Larry Fluitt. He is survived by his wife, Lenora Fluitt; children Calvin Fluitt, Carolyn Fluitt, Ronald Fluitt, and Leland Fluitt; step- children Athalia Anderson, Antonie Johnson, Min. Delores Johnson, Robert Johnson, Crystal-Johnson; siblings Leroy Fluitt, Leon Fluitt, Pearlie Nixon and Libby Monroe. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, countless loved ones, and friends. Calvin was a hardworking, man of faith, he serviced as a deacon for over 20 years. He was a patriarch of the Fluitt's, a father figure to a lucky few, and influential to the lives of many, including Antwaun, Karen & Denise Clemmons. He was the owner of Fluitt & Sons Construction for over 40 years and a Mason of Salem Lodge No. 139, Prince Hall Affiliation. His unwavering love for his family and untiring efforts to make something out of nothing; will be long remembered. Calvin has left a legacy that spans generations, and his presence will A public viewing will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Service will be held Tuesday, June 29th at Piney Grove Baptist Church located at 4715 Indiana Ave, Winston-Salem NC 27106. The viewing starts at 11:30am, and the service starts at noon.
