Mr. Charles H. Armstrong Jr. a long-time resident of Winston-Salem passed away early Saturday morning at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Bradenton, Florida to Charles H. and Dorthy Armstrong.
Charles was an employee of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for over 44 years where he retired as a perfusionist. Charles was the first African-American Perfusionist in the State of North Carolina. Charles was a faithful member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, who worked with the Food Pantry Ministry.
Charles is survived by his wife Terral Armstrong, Daughters Charlene Y. Armstrong Esq., Stephanye Bauer PhD, Son Rev. Charles (Ashley) H. Armstrong III, bonus daughter Adria Aldridge along with a granddaughter Sydney Aldridge of Atlanta, Georgia and brother Eugene Armstrong (Janis) of Bronx, New York. Charles will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his constant companion his beloved dog Sadie. Due to current circumstances a memorial service will be held at a later date.
