Charles Reginald Smith was born on July 7, 1961 to the late Doris Ann Smith in Forsyth County, North Carolina. He departed this life after a brief illness on February 8, 2024 at Novant Medical Center. He was a 1979 graduate at West Forsyth High School and was active as a football manager for the team. He joined the ROTC and later joined the Army after high school, where he was stationed in Germany. After the service, Reg honed his skills in manufacturing and his last employer was Mohawk Industries, where he was a forklift operator.

Reginald was preceded in death by his devoted mother Doris Ann "Gwen" Smith of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He leaves behind a brother, Kerry Wayne "Crunchy" Greene, his niece, Kayden Greene and nephew, Kerry Wayne Greene, IV. He also leaves behind cousins James E. (Denise) Imes of Winston Salem, NC; Carolyn Imes (James Poole) of Winston Salem, NC; Vernell F. Switzer of Rural Hall, NC, close friend Dana Mitten of Winston Salem, NC; and a host of cousins, family and friends. A Memeorial services will be held Wednesday February 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. from Salisbury national Cemetery. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
