Mr. Christopher Gwaltney

Christopher Adam Gwaltney –39 years old Chris was born to Debbie (Gwaltney) Baronowski and Dennie Gwaltney on December 5th, 1984. Chris received his GED and then went on to culinary school. He loved to cook and grill outdoors and shared his love of cooking with his wife and children. Chris would often work as a cook at their family-owned “Mandy’s Diner” in Walnut Cove, NC. Chris had a detail-oriented mind which came in very handy as he also worked for many years doing house and apartment maintenance. Chris was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, nephew, and friend who always had a smile on his face and a willingness to help everyone that he met. He was a “kid at heart” who loved music, totally loved to play video games (especially Rock ( Band), played board/card games, and was often found playing basketball or football with friends and family. Chris was so in love with his family; they had weekly game/activity nights and he and his family especially enjoyed taking trips to visit movie locations for thrillers such as “Vampire Diaries” and the “Hunger Games.” He left this world far too soon and will be dearly missed. Chris was predeceased by his beloved wife, Amanda Sneed Gwaltney, and is survived by his 3 stepchildren, Payton Sneed, Avery Sneed, and Javen Sneed, along with his new-born granddaughter, Viviana Sneed. Chris also leaves behind his mother, Debbie Baronowski, and siblings, Shane Gwaltney (brother), Katie (Baronowski) Stevens (sister), and Kyle Baronowski (brother), along with many much-loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also left behind are his girlfriend, Vickie Parks, and her children, Adam Blackmon and Marie Blackmon. Chris will be forever in our hearts, but we have the assurance that we will see him again The family will receive friends Monday , July 8th, 2024, at 11:00 am at Douthit Funeral Services located at 515 Specialty Park Dr in Winston-Salem. A short service will begin at 11.45 am . immediately following the service there will be a private service for family only at the graveside. As Chris loved to be casual and comfortable, we request that you also feel free to wear casual attire as a way to honor his memory. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
