Ms. Colleen M. Leak, 88, was born May 16, 1933 in Buncombe County, N.C. to the late Sherman and Vessie Greene. She won her race and was called home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2021. Colleen was the matriarch of the Greene family and the last living of her siblings. Colleen was a faithful member of the Sharpe Road Church of Christ in Greensboro, N.C. where Dr. Nicholas Glenn serves as the minister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Sherman, Wilbert, Helen, Anna Lee and Thelma. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted children: Charles (Willie Mae) Greene, Julius (Donna) Greene, Jesse (Pam) Green, Dr. Kenneth (Mary) Greene and her only daughter and caretaker, Belinda Matthews. Colleen is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. A public viewing will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Douthit Funeral Services. Family visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
