Mr. David Knowlin was born December 28, 1932 in Pee Dee, South Carolina to the late Herbert Knowlin Sr. And Mary Etta Richardson Knowlin. David went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
David was educated in the public schools of Marion SC and graduated from Marvon High School. David went on to proudly serve his country. He enlisted in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He was an employee of the city of Winston-Salem for 31 years.
David joined Christ Gospel Church in 1979 under the leadership of Rev. Don E. DeGrate and continued his membership there until 2014. He then joined Calvary Hill Church of Greater Deliverance under the leadership of Bishop Claude C. Turner. David truly loved his church and it's members. He was Dad Knowlin to everyone there.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Herbert Knowlin; His wife Virginia Hickman Knowlin; Sisters, Lillie Bell Davis, Inez Barr, and Mary Etta Johnson; Brothers, John Henry, Eddie, Herbert Jr., Thomas, and James Knowlin; his son Max Reynolds; his granddaughter Tekaira Carter; and his grandson Lonzelle Lewis. David Knowlin leaves to mourn his passing his daughter Pastor Teresa Reynolds; his sister Catherine Lester of Marion SC; his brother Marvin (Diane) Knowlin of Marion SC; five granddaughters Tekisha White (Brandon), Teniqua Reynolds, Drashonta Brinson (CJ), Shaneka Reynolds, and Keyona Reynolds; 8 great granddaughters and 6 great grandsons; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews; and many other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. A public viewing will be held Friday April 11, 2025, from 1pm until 5p at Douthit's. Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 12, 2025, at 11:00 am from Calvary Hill Church of Greater Deliverance. The family will receive friends at 10:30am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
