Obituary

Only what you do for Christ will last. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, whence cometh my help. My help comes from the Lord, which made heaven and earth."

On Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 our beloved, Dianne Jacqueline Brown answered God's final call. Lady Di as she was affectionately known to many was born to Archie Barrow Sr. and Mable McPherson Barrow-Ferguson on February 19, 1952 in Champaign, ILL. Dianne was baptized at a early age and received her religious training at Pilgrim's Journey AME Zion Church, after relocating to Winston Salem she joined Cornerstone of Faith Ministries under Bishop Grosjean Stephens where she served on Pastor's Aide and was one of the mothers of the church.

Dianne loved providing daycare services here in Winston Salem, for years and often adopted many of the children as her own grandkids, she shared a very close connection with G, Madison, Taylor and Maya, also brother Jr who was an honorary daycare student. She loved to cook, making homemade cookies, rice pudding, oatmeal, rolls and many other special treats for her son and family. She enjoyed going places, traveling, having a good time, dancing with her family, taking pictures and videos at every family event to as she would say, "make memories". She also enjoyed sitting on her front porch where she would visit with neighbors and wait for family to ride her out. She always shared a smile and kind word to everyone she would meet, hugging everyone she could. She was a delightful homemaker and our family's number one cook. She took the greatest pleasure in traveling with her son to the racetrack to see him race, she was and will always be his #1 FAN, her name at the raceway was Mama Brown.

She was a dedicated and devoted mother and grandmother, a loving sister and a beautiful friend, she loved hard and never hung up a phone call without letting the person know she loved them.

She was married to Benison Brown Jr and to this union one son was born, Derrick L. Brown Sr. and one daughter, Teresa Brown.
