Dorothy Lee Jeter Murphy was born March 31, 1933, in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Foster B. Jeter, Sr. and Mamie P. Jeter. Dot was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and a dear friend to many she knew, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning March 23, 2024.

Dot attended Atkins High School and retired from Ryans Restaurant. She enjoyed family gatherings, listening to music and watching her favorite game shows, Let's Make a Deal and the Price is Right.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry, brothers, John Coleman, & Foster, Jr., sisters, Eloise, Betty, Clara, Margaret, and Elizabeth.

She is survived by one daughter Cecelia (Michael) Gordon; four sons, Albert Jeter, William (Cynthia), James (Jean) and Perry (Latonya) Murphy; eight grandchildren: Brandi, Bradley, Perry Jr., Cory, Coleman, Shelton, Jalen, and Chriatian; Seven great grandchildren: Sage, Zen, Miller, Peyton, Paris, E'lah, and baby Murphy. Also, she leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A public viewing will be held Thursday March 28, 2024 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit 's. Fuenral service will be held Friday March 29, 2024 at 1pm from Douthit's and interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 12:30pm .Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
