ERNESTINE E. LEWIS (affectionately known as "Tine") was born October 13, 1949, in Winston-Salem, NC and entered peacefully into eternal rest surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, after a brief period of illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Fredrick D. Lewis, Sr., Father Ernest Thomas, Mother Bessie Mae Earl, sister Gloria Earl, brother Nathaniel Earl and Mother-in-Law Evangelist Darnella Frazier. She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories children: Fredrica Sheff, Kareen Smith, Fredrick D. Lewis, Jr.; grandchildren: Timothy Sheff, Jr., Detrice Clark, and Jeremy Smith whom she loved dearly; sisters: Cynthia Cherry of the city, and Carolyn Pereira of Atlanta, GA; and a brother Ernest Earl; a special niece Catherine Johnson, special goddaughter London Mickle, and a special god grandson Julian Mickle all of the city; Brother-in-Laws: Wardlow Frazier, Jr. (Pam), and Malcolm Frazier; Sisters-in-Law: Sharon Frazier, Tanya Frazier, Gwen Roberts, Sheila Ebrahim, and Andra O'Neal, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 1pm at Douthit's. Family will receive friend at 12:30pm. A public viewing will be held Thursday from 10:00am until 1pm.
